Home Staging Essentials

Home staging is all the rage these days in the real estate market. However, not everyone can afford to have their home professionally staged. If you're looking for a few touches to set your home apart from the rest - without breaking the bank - read on for six home staging essentials. Each of these essentials can be purchased for a very reasonable price at many local stores. Remember, you're not looking for the very highest quality here - you're looking to give a crisp, new and inviting look to your home.

White towels

It's amazing the impact fresh, clean white towels can have in a bathroom. Tuck away your worn towels for now, and put out some fluffy, pristine new ones. Towels can be hung from a hook, or rolled and placed in a basket. If you have a tub in the master, fold a towel or two to put by the tub for a spa-like feel. A white towel is the perfect, clean accent piece in a bathroom.

Round mirrors

Have a collection of family portraits? Pack them up for the next home and replace them with a round mirror. Mirrors open up a room by reflecting light and brightening things up. If a large mirror to fill the space is too expensive, consider mixing and matching different sizes of mirrors for a collage. This is a design piece that will appeal to a wide range of people!

Fake plants

In the midst of the busyness of moving, it may be difficult to keep real plants alive. However, opt for a few faux plants to add a bit of greenery and life to the room. Faux plants have come a long way and it can be relatively inexpensive to find realistic looking plants. Some simple greens placed in a vase can draw a potential buyer's eyes to a part of a room you would like to feature.

Art prints

It is relatively easy to hunt down large art prints for a reasonable price. Walls cluttered with personal mementos and photos can be simplified with one large, neutral art print. This one simple change can completely transform the feel of a room and create a sleek, modern feel that will appeal to buyers.

Colorful pillows

While neutrals are often encouraged in home staging, it is wise to add in a few pops of color. One of the easiest ways to do this is with a few brightly colored pillows. A bright pop of color in an otherwise neutral room will add a bit of cheeriness and give a more homey feel. If you already have a lot of pillows on hand, consider buying just a few new covers.

With a relatively small investment, you can transform your home to get the professionally staged look buyers have come to expect. Looking for more tips on how to sell your home fast? Come talk to me today.
